Despite Aberdeen Tigers inflicting a heavy defeat on Banchory 2nd XI there were some memorable moments for Gordon Brown and Ethan Cozier

Aberdeen Tigers 331 all out (38.2 overs): Hussain 97; Brown 5-49
Banchory 2nd XI 85 all out (23.2 overs): Gopinathan 18; Nazari 2-15

Aberdeen Tigers won by 246 runs

It was a long afternoon in the field for the visitors as Aberdeen Tigers racked up a huge total of 331 in the sun at Harlaw. Hussain (97), Nazari (63) and Mahbub (61) were particularly punishing of some wayward bowling. Despite the many shots retrieved from the boundary there were some positives to take away for the fielding side.

Firstly, vice-captain Gordon Brown, (5-49) a long-running and dedicated member of the club, took his first ever 5-wicket haul - which included bowling the Tigers captain, Hussain, 3 shy of what would have been a deserved century. Secondly, promising young all-rounder Ethan Crozier showed great composure in the face of some big-hitting batters to pick up two wickets in his first ever senior game.

In response Banchory's opening three batters reached double-figures but things were wrapped up pretty quickly by a speedy bowling attack.

Next Saturday we take on 3rd Gordonians at Inverdee in the Reid Cup.
